Short Biography

Dr. Francesco Smeraglia is an established orthopedic and hand surgeon, currently Associate Professor of Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Federico II University of Naples. After earning his degree in Medicine and Surgery and his residency in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the same university, he completed numerous fellowships and training programs in hand surgery and microsurgery, working at prestigious institutions in Europe and the United States, including the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital in London and the Texas Medical Center. He also holds the FESSH diploma in Hand Surgery and has held various positions as a consultant in hand surgery at various Italian hospitals.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Smeraglia has authored numerous scientific publications in international journals, focusing on conditions such as trapeziometacarpal arthritis and wrist surgery. He is a member of important scientific societies such as the Italian Society of Hand Surgery (SICM) and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH). His contributions to the field of orthopedic and hand surgery are widely recognized internationally, thanks in part to his research on innovative techniques for the treatment of joint and tendon disorders.
